The actress and radio host has being going from strength to strength on this year’s series of the dance show, sailing through to the semi-finals at the weekend.
Now, as Women’s Health‘s January cover star, she has opened up about her eating and fitness regime during her time on Strictly Come Dancing.
So pleased I can finally share my news that I’m the Woman’s Health cover star for January!!! I shot this back in Oct and keeping it quite has been a nightmare because I’ve been so excited! ? As an avid reader and supporter of ALL Woman’s body shapes and sizes, it really is an honour to be featured. I hope my pictures & interview inspire some of you in some way. Huge thank you to the @upfitnesslive team for training me & helping me feel my best for the shoot and to @clairesanderson the editor for having me. You’re Amazing. Keep inspiring us ladies Claire #ladieswholift #loveyourself ??❤️

She said, “I’m physically in the best shape I’ve ever been in… for me it’s always been 80% what your body needs and 20% what your body wants. I mean, we get, like, 20 Domino’s pizzas delivered to the [Strictly] studio after we’ve finished filming on a Saturday!”
She also admitted that cutting out her favourite foods was never part of her plan. “When I started my transformation, I said to my PT, ‘Listen, there are going to be times when I want a glass of wine and a bar of chocolate.’
“I don’t want to have to look at a menu and panic. I don’t ever want to be so extreme that I get bored or hate it or am angry about it. I want to enjoy it.”
Lady in the street, freak in the gym. ? Never let anyone tell you you’re “too this or too that” for anything! When people question or doubt you because of how you look physically, it says more about them than it does you. ????♀️✌?

Despite her everyday training sessions for Strictly, Gemma recently revealed that she’s gained a stone since starting the show – also stressing that she’s enjoying the experience far too much to worry about her weight.
“There’s a cafe beneath where we train so, if we’re dipping in energy, we’ll nip out for a coffee and a chocolate bar,” she told the magazine.
“Aljaž rocked up with this massive Toblerone and we wolfed it down between us. I thought you could only get Toblerones at Christmas!”
But the occasional treat doesn’t mean Gemma’s super-healthy diet is slipping – as she revealed her typical day’s breakfast. “I get up at 4am, and at 5am I have three eggs, kale, spinach and avocado. Then mid-morning I have porridge oats with almond milk and whey. Then I go training.”
It seems the real secret to Gemma’s healthy lifestyle is her positive outlook, though. “I think confidence comes from the fact that I’ve learnt that as long as I’m happy and healthy, then that’s all that matters,” she said. “My mentality switched. I used to care what people thought of me, but life’s too short.”
